This is not Business related, but something that some people and especially young school students find interesting.
Yesterday, some 48 years ago on November 22nd, 1963 President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas by Lee Harvey Oswald.
There have been many TV programmes an documentaries on recently, including a moving one on the men of the secret service detail who failed that day in Dallas.
The murder of JFK is one of those horrible but fascinating things that as a wee boy I used to wonder about. Last year I went to Dallas and visited the very place where the killing took place. I had watched the movie, JFK and saw many programmes, but none actually depict just how close the Texas School Book Depository actually is to Elm Street (hence Nightmare on Elm street), meaning that even a half decent shot with a rifle could hardly miss the target. A trained marine like Oswald would obviously be a decent shot.
The building is now a museum dedicated to the life of President Kennedy.
On a business note, horror novelist Stephen King has released a time travel novel called 11/22/63 about a man's attempt to change the course of history on the fateful day. I am actually reading the book just now, but I do wonder whether it really is in good taste to dangle such wish fulfilment and fantasy in front of such a tragic event.
