Volkswagen have record year

Volkswagen have boosted sales by a record 19 percent. They have sold over 5 million cars so far in 2012, with less than 2 weeks to go. Their incredible year has been put down to superb sales increases in two growth markets: China and Russia.

The only downside is that the German based car manufacturer have said that projections for 2013 will be among the worst ever. Though how other automakers will get on is anyone’s guess, as Volkswagen are well known for their quality cars.

Bugatti Veyron

When you ask a class of young pupils to select their favourite items, there is one runaway winner everytime. When it comes to cars, all the pupils with an interest in automobiles all vote for a certain vehicle: the Bugatti Veyron.

The Veyron is possibly the world’s most famous car thanks to Top Gear and it’s £1 million price. It was created in 2005 and is made by Volkswagen.

The Veyron is the fastest production car in the world, with a top speed of 267 mph. There are reputed to only be 50 in the world at present, with 8 of them being based in the UK.

The car is a marvel of modern engineering and technology, a spaceship on wheels!

In 2007 an unnamed driver pranged his Veyron in Surrey.

Top Gear praised the Veyron and it won its 2005 car of the year and also in 2010 the car of the decade accolades.

The Bugatti SuperVeyron will be launched in 2013 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Customer Service & Production: Autostadt - VW's massive garage

In Wolfsburg, Germany, Volkswagen have the latest in stock inventory… two massive car silos or garages that can hold 600 cars. Each silo is 200ft tall and links to the VW factory by a futuristic conveyor belt, meaning that when the cars are completed, they are transported to the silos to be stored until picked up or sent to their new owners.

The belt lies in an underground tunnel which also puts some final finishing touches to the cars such as adding a licence plate to the cars. The mileage is also set at zero at this point so customers can watch their car being picked up and delivered by the robotic arms just like in the Mission: Impossible movie Ghost Protocol, which had a futuristic garage in Mumbai, but in actual fact was inspired by the incredible VW silos.
