Here’s an interesting quote when we think of Internal Organisation and indeed organisational structure.

Business Quotes

“Business is a game, played for fantastic stakes, and you're in competition with experts. If you want to win, you have to learn to be a master of the game.”

Sidney Sheldon, from his book Master of the Game

Business Quotes

This quote is one which is not just for Business but for a wider aim. One for people to dream and not to just blindly obey the status quo. I am sure it has inspired many people and many entrepreneurs as they have shrugged off people who said their product wouldn’t sell.

It is also rather poignant in that Robert Kennedy used it often when he was running for President in 1968.

"Some men see things as they are and say, 'Why'? I dream of things that never were and say, 'Why not'?"

Senator Robert F. Kennedy, quoting George Bernard Shaw

For those who are too young to know, Robert Kennedy was Presiden John F. Kennedy’s younger brother. He too, like his brother, was murdered by an assassin. Kennedy was shot in the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.

Business Quotes

Found this great quote from America’s favourite shopkeeper, who started his empire in 1962 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Mr Sam Walton of Walmart.

“There is only one boss. The customer. And he can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else.”

Sam Walton, founder of Walmart

Business Quotes

This is a very famous quote, but I do believe it is truthful.

“Genius is 1 % inspiration and 99% perspiration”

Thomas Edison

Business Quotes - Andrew Carnegie

Here’s a quote which I have never seen or heard before, but it is appropriate.

“The first one gets the oyster the second gets the shell”

 – Andrew Carnegie

Andrew Carnegie was born in Dunfermline, Scotland but emigrated to the USA and eventually founded US Steel. He became the richest man in world. Carnegie was a philanthropist and very generous, yet for some bizarre reason being ‘a Carnegie’ meant something akin to Scrooge!

His quote says a lot about having first mover advantage and being the first to act in any marketplace. Being first does have many advantages even if imitators may com along quickly.

Business Quotes - Mike Ditka

Love this quote, which is a motivational quote and not from a business leader but a leader from the world of sports.

“Success is not permanent & failure is not fatal.”
Mike Ditka

Mike Ditka was the Superbowl winning Head Coach of the famous Chicago Bears team of 1985 that included William “The Refrigerator” Perry.

Business Quotes

“If there is such a thing as good leadership, it is to give a good example.”

Ingvar Kamprad, IKEA founder
