Business Quotes - Andrew Carnegie

Here’s a quote which I have never seen or heard before, but it is appropriate.

“The first one gets the oyster the second gets the shell”

 – Andrew Carnegie

Andrew Carnegie was born in Dunfermline, Scotland but emigrated to the USA and eventually founded US Steel. He became the richest man in world. Carnegie was a philanthropist and very generous, yet for some bizarre reason being ‘a Carnegie’ meant something akin to Scrooge!

His quote says a lot about having first mover advantage and being the first to act in any marketplace. Being first does have many advantages even if imitators may com along quickly.
