While browsing on Wikipedia (as one does) I came across this startling project which I was not aware of when I was in China at Easter.
This ambitious project to build a bridge between Hong Kong and Macau is startling. Not only will it link Hong Kong and Macau but it may have an impact on Hong Kong’s tourism as many people use Hong Kong as the gateway to mainland China thanks to the special economic area status it has.
Macau is famous for its casinos and has a continental flair and feel thanks to its Portuguese colonial rule.
Another impact is what will happen to the hydrofoils who make a fortune ferrying people from Hong Kong to Macau and back?
