A new technology development early in 2013! LG has launched a 55in (140cm) OLED TV – means organic light-emitting diode - is more energy efficient than LCD (liquid crystal display) and plasma-based alternatives. LG and Samsung are both planning on 55in OLED TVs, but LG has beaten their rival to the starting blocks.
This will no doubt begin massive competition between rival TV set makers to take us to the next level of high quality vision.
LG's OLED model will be sold firstly in South Korea and then to be rolled out across the globe, if successful.
